Riders at Dawn

In my imagination, I see… Serena and myself nearly seated on two sleek chestnut racing horses, thundering across the beach of my heart. The sun is dawning, painting the sky glorious in shades of orange and rose. A gray-blue sea delivers her crashing white waves to our feet. We streak past with heads bent low, hair streaming, and backsides lifted. Today we wear sleeveless white dresses with golden brocade bodices and white chiffon skirts. Golden suede boots, and golden crowns complete our dazzling attire. Each horse carries a long walnut pole topped with streamers of purple, diamond white, and royal blue, unfurled in splendor. A sense of mission, expectancy, and rightness fill the air! I wonder where we might be going…

You have given a banner to those who fear You, That it may be displayed because of the truth.

Psalm 60:4 NKJV
